Hello Guild members, As the year passes slowly on, ESO draws ever closer. Minute by minute, day by day, we edge closer to it's release. However, there are still many a month til it's release, and we should find something to entertain ourselves with until then. This is a thread for us to discuss which game/games we would like to play together before ESO begins. Everyone is encouraged to suggest a game/games they like. There are several criteria though, that must be met. Naturally, the game must be a multiplayer/co-op game. (Meaning no suggestion of previous elder scrolls, no matter how tempting) Furthermore, the game must be free to play, or at least a cheap game that requires a once-off payment. The game must also be Guild friendly, and encourage working as a team. I myself have little knowledge of multiplayer games, with the few that I know being games which hardly live up to the standard of ESO. However, I shall post them all the same. Few games can live up to ESO, and the ones I will suggest will fulfill the criteria. 1. Runescape Set within a fantasy, medieval world, Runescape is a MMORPG that caters to Guilds such as our own. It is a free to play game, with it's PC requirements lower than most games. Taking on a third person view, you control your character to take on various missions and tasks of your liking. 2. Minecraft This game places less focus upon questing and roleplaying than runescape, but more upon one's imagination. In minecraft, the sky is the limit. Using blocks of varying materials found within the game, you and your friends can construct various structures to combat various obstacles in the game. Though the game focuses on construction and building, it does have it's own share of combat. However, the game does require once-off payment. 3. Mousehunt(Facebook) The least time consuming of games, Mousehunt is a facebook free to play game that involves setting traps and catching different species of mice. From white mice in the fields to Ninja mice in the dojo, the game offers a constant, never ending goal of catching newer, harder mice. Here are the links to some other MMOs which we may want to take a look at: www.mmobomb.com/games/mmorpgi thought this one looked the most appealing: www.mmobomb.com/review/neverwinter

4. Guild Wars 2 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guild_Wars_2A few World of Warcraft friends of mine switched to this game and made their own guild. Last I heard, it was going very well. Going by that, it sounds like it has a good Guild set up.

well I was planning on getting minecraft at some point, but that depends on when I can spare the money. Guild wars 2 is 50 dollars I think? I'm not a huge MMO player so idk if I would want to pay that much for one (aside from ESO). As for Free to play games I know a few on steam you can download.
TF2 is a silly fps with interesting game play mechanics and dozens of crazy game modes!
There's also Planetside 2 which is an MMO fps that has PvP game play very similar to what I think ESO will have. Of course its also very demanding graphically and internet connection wise.
There is also games like Dota 2 and League of Legends that are totally free to play (aka with no "pay to win" models, which Planetside has a bit of)
These are all free to play for the PC, and I've played each of them fairly extensively (aside from Dota 2). Also we should make a steam group for The Striders!

Haha, that is true Meeb. I already know your steam account name, but what about the rest of you? My name on steam is hunger_of_ash . setting up a group is a good idea and will suit our needs.
Hmm, I will look into planetside. League of legends is pretty popular at my part of the world, but Dota seems pretty outdated. I'll check all their gaming systems all the same.
And yes, I didn't know Guild Wars 2 had a cost of 50. If that's the case, I think minecraft, Neverwinter and planetside/LOL are good choices. We just need to pick which of these is the one we wish to play.

Haha, of course. Hmm, but I'm not sure if Skies can play with us...He's from the Ebonhawks, another ESO guild. They have their own games that they play.

"You have to trust someone to be betrayed. I never did." - Captain Price: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
But seriously, was he ever a member of the Striders, and if so why did he leave?

Haha the Striders came about after the Ebonhawks- We are the second Ebonhawk Guild that made our presence official on SF, while Ebonhawks was the first. They've stopped recruiting at about 15 members, but they are all members that are highly competitive in MMORPGS, so they're not to be taken lightly.

So, jumping in here. Although I have had little free time for much gaming (or apparently forum-ing >.>), I have recently gotten Guild Wars 2 but haven't really gotten into it yet. I tried DOTA2, but wasn't a huge fan oddly enough. Probably because I started with League of Legends first and that's what stuck. So, if anyone plays League of Legends, I'd be down. (also, I got GW2 for $35 at gamesrocket.com I think it was.)
