Update #6- Ambassador role

Hello Guild members,

As you know, we are now part of the Ebonheart Trade. The Ebonheart Trade is a collection of Guilds that serves to provide easy access to trade for all participating. They can bring about extreme benefits, such as becoming a source of wealth and knowledge. But in order for the Trade to work in our favor, we need to ensure that relations between The Striders and this movement remain good. Thus, we need an ambassador.

The role of the ambassador is to speak in our Guild's interests in discussions with the Ebonheart trade. You can find them over here: www.legend-gaming.net/vokundein/forums/forumdisplay.php?75-Ebonheart-Trade-Initiative At the moment, our Guild stands in support of a Ebonheart only trading zone, and dislike the idea of opening trade with other non-faction Guilds. This is because by letting non-faction Guilds trade with us as equals, it will give other Guilds the impression that the Ebonheart trade(and indirectly, us) are out there solely for money, and will support the enemy's war efforts in order to achieve that goal. Our loyalty to the Pact will be questioned, and we do not want that.

As an ambassador, you will need to speak for the Guild on these matters. Developments will be posted by you on this trade. You will also play a pivotal role in the decision making process- You can make on the required decisions, and hence change the entire Guild's stand. Though it is encouraged not to change our stand too much, we will support the ambassador fully in whatever decision he or she makes.

If you are interested in acting as an ambassador, please give the rest of the Guilds a heads up. We will be counting on you in the area of diplomacy with the Trade.

Sounds like a very interesting role. If I must, I would be honored to take up the role as Ambassador for our Guild. If I do become an Ambassador, I shall do my best to uphold the Guild's standards while also seeking to advance our own position in the Ebonheart Trade. I would, if picked, make sure that all decisions are reported to you beforehand if needed.

If anyone else would prefer the position, however, I shall willingly step down and let them be our Ambassador if that is what they desire.

I think google is a good choice, he is pretty active (at least here) and level headed. Thats the most important thing in any diplomat

Alright, we have our first task as a Guild. I have volunteered our Guild to do the lore of the Ebonheart Trade, as it provides several benefits. Firstly, we become influential in the Trade, and will not be considered a minor Guild as we have played our part. Secondly, we can make the lore fitting to our own standards.

Google will lead the lore creation, but everyone will chip in. Here is a quote from Rigma on how this lore will be used:
"So a lot of RPers have recently come up to me wanting our guild lore so they can incorporate it in their RP Lore/stories. Problem is...we don't have one yet. So, Ebonheart Trade is now commissioning RP Lore Writing Experts to devise a basic guild lore so other players may use it as a base for their lore and stories regarding the glorious Ebonheart Pact Faction."

In general, we will have to make lore that provides both our Guild and many other Guilds with a chance to add the Ebonheart Trade into the RPs. We have to think politically on what we wish to write for lore too- No saying they are a secret trade of skooma or something. (that could offend them). Other than that, let's begin to roam free with our ideas.

It... is truly an honor to receive such a title from you, Geel. I know I asked for it, but to actually obtain it is something else.

I've looked up to you when it came to Role-Playing ever since I joined the Rise of the Falmer thread, back when I was depressed and new to Role-Playing on a serious level. I was not prepared to be invited to this guild, didn't think I would be good enough for it, yet you accepted me anyway. And now you've put the integrity of the guild in my hands to see that we are justly represented in the Ebonheart Trade...

I shall do my best to prove that I am indeed worthy of the title of Ambassador of The Striders, a great guild lead by a great individual with a great community, with which I am glad to call each and everyone of its members my friends.

I'll start brainstorming on some lore ideas as soon as possible, and thank you again. For everything.

Google, all I can say is I'm thankful of your words. Truth be told, I wasn't sure of where I was going when I first started the Striders. Now I can say with all finality that it is a venture I'll never regret.

Hmm... Just checked up on the Ebonheart Trade page. Seems Ahaark made himself quite infamous there already. It was a bold move which showed our Guild's backbone, but I'm afraid we've gotten Rigma a tad annoyed. It doesn't really help that we showed such opinion in their Guild's territory. Can some of us go in and defend Ahaark? He's being verbally questioned by at least 3 people at the moment.

Okay guys(Google in particular), here's the news Rigma's sent the Guilds.

"October 15, Ebonheart Trade Meeting Confirmation. Even if you're guild is not involved, we extend our invitation to curious individuals or guilds that are considering the market. Or for individuals/guilds that would just like to get involved in guild diplomacy early on.

October 25. Ebonheart Trade Commission Meeting. Ebonheart Trade meeting will be working out details. Only accessible to guild leaders/ambassadors and guests that have requested confirmation from October 15th.

Will be on Ventrillo."

At least one of us has to make it on the date. If nobody can make it, I should be able to help make the dates, as sleep isn't really an issue with me. However, there is that slim chance the meeting is held when I'm in school...Which means you guys have to join Google. Please reply asap as to whether it's likely you'll be able to make it(THey haven't posted the exact time yet though)
