Hello Guild members, Some news has arrived which may prove a challenge for some. ESO has decided to take up a " you pay once per month after the first 30 days and the entire game is available to you" system. Please take a look at it www.gamestar.de/spiele/the-elder-scrolls-online/artikel/www.gamestar.de/spiele/the-elder-scrolls-online/artikel/the_elder_scrolls_online,44578,3026853.html I would like to know if any of you may face difficulties in paying these fees. I know I will- I have yet to begin working. If so, drop a comment here and perhaps we can discuss tactics we can use to reducing costs. For example, 2 players with difficulty could share 1 account. This would reduce costs by half. A schedule could be worked out- one person could play on a day the other is not free. I also know that many of us come from different parts of the world. Your morning is my night. We could use this to our advantage to squeeze every last drop out for members. I really hope that none of our members are disheartened. We will try to do our best together as a Guild to ensure that everyone has that amount of playtime. Payment: "Since you've been so forthcoming, could you also reveal the available subscriptions? How much will a month of ESO cost? We'll go into details on this later, but the basic monthly charge will be $14.99/€12.99/£8.99 and expect some discounts if you buy multiple months at a time. We'll also support game time cards as well as a variety of payment methods." So, how many of us PC players will find it a challenge?

-__- It sucks they did that, because I can in no way afford to spend 15 dollars a month on a game. I need about 75,000 dollars to finish off my college payments, and when I move I won't have a job so I'm on food wages only for a while. I could easily take a 60 dollar one time thing, probably ask for it for my birthday or something, but I won't be able to do that. my only hope is that maybe they will drop the pay per month thing after a while and make a 'premium account' thing. Still its disappointing they aren't going for more of a guild wars 2 approach

This is only decreasing my chance of affording this game.

yeah it seems like they will lose a lot of people if they do this, as most people who are gamers are in their teens and twenties and don't have a lot of money to spare.

I read that the cost may be lowered and may change to a free to play title. Lets keep our fingers crossed
but its not like bethesda is strapped for cash. i don't understand why pay to play was implemented. i understand bethesda and zenimax need to pay their workers, but if you look at the lager picture and all of the people who will buy subscriptions and stop paying them because they can't afford it. it seems to me that they would be losing sales and money unless of course the game is the best mmo ever made and goes down in history as such.

Hopefully they go around and look at the sir they've caused. Although its highly unlikely that they will. But I'm sure sales will speak for us.

odds are if it doesn't do very well the first few months they'll take of the sub fee and just go with premium accounts. I think thats what KOTAR did.

Agreed. But I'd be okay with paying for a 60 dollar yearly membership, like Microsoft did With Xbox live.

I know I am not part of the guild but I wanna give my opinion on the Subscription fee by Bethesda.
I would love to pay for ESO monthly but, just like most my age, I need to save and pay for driving lessons, collage/university fund, board, etc..
But I would only pay that amount if I was going to be on it everyday and even though I'm a hardcore gamer, I'm not like that. I might be off for a few days, maybe a couple of weeks and it would feel unfair to pay for not going on at that time.
Plus the community is now used to free 2 play MMOs now. Many different games do it differently now that people have grown used too.
ESO maybe a massive MMO that needs funding but with popularity of Elder Scrolls, many were going to buy it because it is a huge franchise in the community. By doing a pay 2 play, they are essentially shooting themselves in the foot because we know around half of the community will probably boycott it due to anger.

Idk guild wars 2 seems to have done pretty good as a one time purchase MMO

My Wiki, your thoughts on the matter and your current financial situation mirror my own. It's like you read my mind. As for not being in the guild, your opinion is always welcome regardless.
